About the Development

The Royal Arsenal London, dates back 300 years as a site for the manufacturing of ordnance and has played a vital role in the development of the British Empire and the defence of the Realm.

One of Berkeley Homes’ prestigious property developments, taking full advantage of a prime riverside location, the regeneration of The Royal Arsenal, has transformed one of the nation’s most historic military establishments into the capital’s largest and most exciting waterfront development. The careful and sympathetic refurbishment of historic Grade 2 listed buildings, combined with contemporary new build, provides townhouses and 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, which capitalise on the site’s unique sense of history.

Pedestrian links along tree-lined streets provide easy access from the Royal Arsenal to Woolwich town centre and its historic market, as well as the riverfront parks and walks which offer spectacular views of Canary Wharf, the Thames Barrier and the City of London

Plans to extend the Docklands Light Railway across the Thames to a new station at The Royal Arsenal have been approved by the Government. The additional 1.5 mile stretch will take the line from King George V station near London City Airport to a new station to be called Woolwich Arsenal. When completed in 2008, the DLR extension will run every four minutes at peak times, putting Canary Wharf within 10 minutes, the city within 20 minutes and the West End (via a Jubilee line connection at Canary Wharf) within 30 minutes. The station will be located 300m from the development.

There is now a new riverboat service to Canary Wharf running morning and evening and taking approx 20 mins - a nice way to travel to work!

Life in Woolwich in the twenty-first century is destined to offer the best of all worlds - new employment opportunities, entertainment and leisure facilities, shopping, education, access to the river and even better transport links. All this combines to make the Royal Arsenal London one of the most attractive environments in London, where people will want to live, work and enjoy themselves.
